BPC-157 vs TB-500: the differences explained

BPC-157 and TB-500 are often mentioned together in preclinical research, but they are very different peptides. Below we compare origin, structure, research areas and practical matters such as reconstitution and storage.

What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide. In the literature it is mainly studied in animal and cell models around tissue repair, blood vessel formation and the gastrointestinal tract. No human clinical use is approved.

What is TB-500?

TB-500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a protein involved in regulating actin within cells. Researchers use it in models of cell migration and tissue organisation.

Why are they studied together?

Because both peptides appear in preclinical tissue models but are studied through different mechanisms, some studies compare them side by side. That is why they are often mentioned as a pair. Europa Peptides supplies both as separate vials so researchers can design their own setup.

Reconstitution and calculation

Both peptides are supplied lyophilized and come with 3 ml of bacteriostatic water as standard. Our free peptide calculator quickly works out concentrations per ml and per unit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between BPC-157 and TB-500?

Origin and mechanism: BPC-157 is derived from a gastric protein, TB-500 from thymosin beta-4. They are studied in different preclinical models.

Are BPC-157 and TB-500 tested?

All batches are HPLC-tested at 99%+ purity. Available analyses are on our lab results page.
